Devienne's music has long been highly regarded for its qualities of grace and balance. The flute concertos, which the composer played at the Concerts Spirituels in the 1780s, reflect the elegance and brilliance of classical music in Paris at the time, earning him the title 'the French Mozart'. Concerto No. 11 in B minor, presented here in an edition for flute and keyboard, is perphaps the most attractive of them all.
