After training on piano, viola, organ and percussion,
 Roger Butler discovered the ultimate instrument  to be the electronic studio. Whilst studying  under the inspirational direction of Reginald  Smith Brindle at Bangor University, he founded  his first electroncic music studio. After  further research throughout Europe he began  developing a range of experimental courses in  electronic and instrumental composition.  Currently Head of Music Technology at the Royal  Welsh College of Music and Drama, he has written  for the concert hall, the theatre and dance.  Works include instrumental solos, chamber and  orchestral music, choral works, and mixed media,  often employing live electronics or  electroacoustic music.
