Paul Everett's doctoral thesis The Manchester Concerto Partbooks was published by Garland in the series 'Outstanding Dissertations in Music from British Universities'.

He is a specialist in the analysis of sources in the field of European music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Paul is a member of the Royal Musical Association and corresponding member of the Advanced Musical Scholarship. Member of the editorial committee of the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi (Fondazione Cini, Venezia), responsible for the New Critical Edition of the Works of Antonio Vivaldi (1982-).

Head of Department, Deparment of Music, University College Cork, The National University of Ireland. Member of the Council of the Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI).
