Alexander Scriabin spent nine years in the Moscow Army Cadet Corps.

He entered the Moscow Conservatory in 1888 where his brilliant pianism won him the second Gold medal when he left in 1892 (Rachmaninov won the first)

He died suddenly from septicaemia due to a boil on his upper lip.
