Adriano Cirillo was born in 1951 in Bari, southern Italy. He studied composition with Nino Rota, piano with Lya De Barberis and Vincenzo Vitale, and conducting with Massimo Pradella and Nicola Samale. From 1975 to 2003 he taught piano at the Conservatorio Niccolò Piccinni in Bari, where he was also responsible for musicology. He is currently teaching at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice. He is pianist of the Trio di Bari and has worked as an editor for Carisch editions. His compositions have been published by Ut Orpheus Edizioni.
