Martin Skamletz (*1970) is head of performance practice research and professor of music theory at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, Switzerland, and also teaches at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch, Austria. Trained as a flautist in Vienna and Brussels, he performs as a chamber musician and in various period instrument orchestras. He is co-editor of the series Musikforschung der Hochschule der Künste Bern (Edition Argus), and his research interests include brass instruments and their music as well as French opera around 1800.
